I have recently fixed my friends 2000 Waverrunner XL 1200. He sunk it and ever since that it ran like crap. I took the motor out and I replaced the reeds since one of them was broke, nothing else seemed wrong. The Waverunner will start without any problems on the trailer (out of the water), it idle's and revs fine. I took it to the river today and got it started, but as soon as i went to give it throttle it died. While in the water it will only start with the choke on, and will only go about 100 feet before it dies again. I am new to Waverunners, but have alot of experience with 2 stroke motors. I am at a loss to why its not running right while in the water.
any suggestions?
