Just picked up a 1200GP with no compression in the middle cylinder. Guy I bought it from was honest. He was embaressed to admit it but he ran it out of oil. He had installed a Riva "racing" chip in it and he thinks that may be the reason why the warning lights / buzzer didn't come on. I'm not up on the racing upgrades but I understand the concept. Plug & play the easy way versus the old fashioned way of generating HP. Anyway, could the performance chip cause this problem? 2nd question, how good are the chances the crank/bearings are still good? haven't started the tear down process yet. Getting ready to but thought I'd poke around here a bit and see what you folks have to say. Thanks / dp
