Hello everyone,
Just picked up a 800 XLT for super cheap. PTO cylinder has low compression and it has been sitting. Just wanted to get general advice in what to focus on. I have worked on a bunch of seadoos but this is my first yamaha.
My plan is
1. Take off carbs and clean. I have all the stuff to test and will determine if I need a rebuild kit
2. Inspect jet pump
3. Drain oil and fuel and replace with new.
4. Tear into engine and do a top end if not too bad. Is this a good idea? Or should I do a full rebuild?
What else should I look into? Should I switch to pre-mix on these? Etc.
Any advice will help just do not know too much about these machines and don't want to forget something that could hurt later on.
