I just found pwcforum and I'm looking forward to learning lots. I have a 2005 VX110 with a bad motor. It was a prior rental ski that I picked up cheap for the kids to learn on. It has around 900 hours and has been super reliable for the past couple years. But now, 1 cylinder has zero compression. We decided to pull the engine and rebuild it. My question is can anyone recommend engine mods that will increase performance. Figured since we are going to have it apart, i want to try to hop it up as much as possible... Well, as much as is cost effective anyway. Maybe their is a different engine that will work in the ski that makes more sense to use. I honestly don't know a whole lot about what will bolt into the VX110. Thanks for any help.

There are not any aftermarket engine mods for the VX that I know of. However, both RIVA Motorsports, and R&D Performance offer peripheral upgrades (like new impeller, ride plate, air filter, etc.) that will give you a few more mph. $1200-$1500 will buy you a 3-4 mph increase (55-57 mph top speed).

Also no other engine that will work without completely modifying the exhaust system, electrical system, etc..

You could probably find a local engine specialist that could rebuild the engine for more hp, but probably not worth the cost.

If you want to go fast save your money for the new VXR or VXS..............68 mph stock, and I'm sure there will be many upgrades available soon that will push the top speed into the 80s.
