2008 VX110 Paint Flaking

I have a 2008 Yamaha [new in 2009] with about 40 hrs on it. While I was winterizing a few weeks ago, I lifted the trailer up high to drain all the water, and noticed large [4in dia] areas where the paint had flaked off. This hull did not scrape on beach or sand. The dealer said that Yamaha would not warranty this. Has anybody had this problem??? Thank's MOXIE
