We have had issues with both or GTX's where the little dowels that pop into the front of the hood assembly break. Any good fixes? We have tried plastic weld and loctite. Without that small piece we can't use the front storage without risking breaking more parts and the full hood assembly is over $400. Trying to find a cheaper way to fix a super small part. Attached is a picture the left is the broken piece which we still have to reattach in some way.

My suggestion is to procure a pair of (Stainless Steel Hardware) 6mm or 5mm x 50 or 55mm Allen Head Bolts (length as determined by you), four 6mm or 5mm washers, Two Nyloc Nuts and find a suitable piece of non-ferrous metal tubing that can be flattened into an Oval to mimic the shape of the original plastic pin and allow for both bolts to be inside, cut to fit between the existing plastic supports as a Spacer. Drill Two 1/4" holes in each of the plastic supports where the broken pin was (trim away all of the old pin). Insert Bolts from opposite sides with the front / outer position having the bolt head. You may have to grind away some of each nut & possibly the Bolt Heads to allow for the bolts to be close enough together?
Note: You will have to determine whether to use 5mm or 6mm Hardware?
