im nervous to take the ski out this weekend because the other day when i was flushing it out the ski just started to rev up to max rpm and the kill switch wouldnt work. it ran itself out after about 10 sec. then we started it again and it didnt do it and the kill switch worked.

good thing it Hasn't done this on the water.

Please help,

Next time it does that choke it out! It dieseled on you. This is a condition that happens when there is an air leak in the base gaskets. What is happening is fire should be happening on top of the cylinder and since you have a leak it is happening on top and in the crankcase therefore you get what you got! First tourque the jugs down to the proper specs and see if that stops it. If not replace your base gaskets. It won't do it in the water due to back pressure on the engine. But don't screw with it until you fix it.:appl:

thankyou so much i didnt know what was goin on... So i guess the best thing to do is replace the gasket? im just worried that after ripping of the cylinders ill find more damage from it running like it did. I guess i got no choice

Do a compression test before you take off the jugs. that will tell you if there is any other problems (usually). While you have the jugs off go have them honed and put new rings on the Pistons. It will be like a new motor. After you have it torn down you will be able yo see pretty much everything you need to. Get back to me.:appl:

im dying to bring it somewhere but its sunday and nobodys open...just quick question. the CHECK VALVE: is it supposed to let air to the tank or away from it and how easy should air pass through??

i think we finally found the problem ...with the dual carb setup the back carbs butterfly valve wouldnt open because the rod that syncronizes the two carbs was loose. i ran it fine w/o the hose im not sure if it runnin through it im gonna try tomorro with the hose and post
