I have a 95 barracuda that needs a new top end. I was wondering if I could do a motor swap for a 770. I have read that the electronics are all the same. Does anyone have any input if this is even doable? How much modification would be necessary? Thank you

It is doable, i know of guys that prefer to rip the big triples out and install the (640)small twins for easier care, motor mounts are the same. Your basically going to a bigger bore twin w/ twin carbs so throttle and choke cables should hookup fine. From 93-95 i believe the had a smaller crank dia. than the 96-99 and the crank bearings weren’t as robust in earlier years. Coupler is the main area cause it all depends on what year 770 your dropping in. Same year and it should be easy to swap. You would be better off using the exhaust manifold from 770 also cause i can’t remember if the ports are larger being a bigger bore and all. Some people even drop the suzuki twins in the old standups.
