My 96 polaris slt 700 was running great, really awsome. Until took it out and it will barely run. When it does run it doesnt have very high rpms. Its getting spark and fuel. Sounds like it is backfiring or missing a little bit. Only thing i did was take the oil pump off to tighten the bottom. Now it does this.

Bummer

Took a look at the oil pump and it had cracked and broke a pieace off. Did compression test with no psi in mag cylinder, so tore it apart to see the ring fried and cylinder wall scarred. Has good 110 psi in other cylinder. Anyone think i should replace both?

110 psi is NOT that great - I would at least check out the other cyl./piston to make sure you don't have any scoring on it. If it were mine - I would replace both.
