I have a '96 Waveventure 1100 that normally does about 55mph, but is now topping out at only about 40. It idles fine and all, it just seems to be losing power at top speed. We tried changing the spark plugs and fuel filter, but that had no affect on the problem. We also tried mixing an additive to a full tank of gas, such as you would in a car, and that also didn't help. We only got it briefly to reach top speed by pulling up slightly on the choke while the ski was running. I was told by a mechanic at a marine shop that it's most likely the carburetors.

I don't have much experience troubleshooting waverunner problems, and so if anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Dan
