I have a 96 gti and a 97 gti same engines. The 96 I have a key for the 96 I don't want to make one unless I am sure it will run. What do I need to swap from the 2 skis to use the 96 key on the 97. I am assuming it is the computer. Can you tell me where it is located also?

I have a 97 GTX and a 96 XP, took them to the dealer and can use either key on both skis. Cost me about $35 for reprograming.
