my waverunner overheats after 15 minutes of riding. as soon as the warning light comes on it starts running like crap. if i idle around for 2 or 3 minutes, and then shut it off for a few minutes, i start it up and it runs good for about 15 minutes again.
a friend that works on small engins says that he is sure it's the head gasket. anybody got any ideas or is he correct?
if it is head gasket, where is the best place to buy one? thanks for any help!:smilie_help:

No, id say the rear part of the exhaust is blocked. take it off and apart (you will need to buy new gaskets), split it and clean it out and re-install it. It would be a good idea to take the head off to check the water jacket for sand. If the head gasket is black, it re usable (obviously check it) but if its green you will need to replace it.
