I was recently started working on a 97 yamaha gp1200 and the previous owner told me it will turnover and start but soon after the overheated indicator comes on. I have not taken in out in fear that it could lead to something more serious. What are some reasons this could be happening? The engine is working fine and has good compression, and I have also installed an oil blockoff plate and use the appropriate mixture. Also any suggestions I could attempt/check before heading to the parts store?
