I have a 1998 TSR 1000. Ran fine until starter froze. After replacing the starter (for the fifth time since I've owned it), it ran on the trailer. Sounded OK. Once in the water, it was way down on power, wouldn't even plane out. Seemed as if it hitting all three cylinders, but no power. I put it on the houseboat, changed plugs, and started it. I noticed an inordinate amount of oil out of the exhaust. Took it home and removed all carbs and reed assemblies. They all look fine. Compression check yielded 95-100 psi per hole. Any thoughts???

Wasn't Carbs. Was told that 100 times. Turned out to be the flywheel. It had so much crap built up on it that the trigger bands were throwing wrong signal to pickup... i.e. timing way off. Removed flywheel and cleaned entire flywheel and stator, ran like a champ.
