A guy I work with was moving and needed to unload his jetski quick, so last week I became the proud owner of a 1997 Sea Doo GS. The thing looks like new, he estimated about 50 total hours on it. I have never owned or ridden one before, so this is all new to me. I just wanted to say hello and ask any advice for new folks. I went to bombardier and downloaded and read the operators guide.

The one question I did have was starting the thing. In addition to turning the gas on and attaching the lanyard is there an electrical switch anywhere to turn the craft on and off? The battery is attached but I don't have any power.

A new battery and the thing started in about 2 seconds. I gave it a ten second run as recommended in the owners manual. This is going to be fun!
