looking to purchase either a 2004 Yamaha WaveRunner® FX High Output or a
2004 Yamaha GP800R Waverunner. will be riding on with 3 teenagers or by myself. looking to see if there are any maintenance issues and which is a better family ride.

Go with the FX HO. Its a 4 stroke, 3 person ski, much less headache, and more reliable, much easier to maintain, much more stable in the water, much better towing capacity, better rough water ride, dryer ride, no oil to mix, no carbs to clean, no oil pump to go bad. Plus besides being a 2 stroke, the 800R is only a 2 person ski...............no comparison.
