my friend has a 98 yamaha gp760. took it to the lake forgot the plugs, it took on who knows how much water. they never took it to get looked at, 2 years later, still hasnt ran. i change battery, spark plugs, tried to get it to turn over... got nothing, no gauges work either. The fuse is good. Any advice, engine rebuild.. or is it just done.. what am i missing. Ill be takin it to a shop but ill try anything before i take it.. save some money. thanks.

well sure if you wanna have a motor that runs like a three legged dog.. atleast change out the needle bearings, crank seals, and rings.... i bet the crank bearings are shot too....... but if you dont care how long it lasts or how well it performs then by all means dont rebuild..
