I found the starter is why the jetski engine is not starting, I tapped it with a hammer and it would spin about one round then stop, I got the fuel tank out, but still can't see a way to get the starter out, what all has to come out before getting the starter out maybe the exhaust manifold. 1995 SL750 John

I JUST HAD SAME PROB WITH MY POLARIS SLH SKI. BUSHES WERE STUCK IN STARTER..RIGHT HERE GOES ITS A PIECE OF CAKE DONT KNOW WHO TOLD YOU TO TAKE TANK OUT BECAUSE YOU CANT GET AT STARTER FROM THERE..AND YO DONT NEED SPCIALIST TOOLS EITHER ALL YOU NEED IS A SMALL RATCHET AND A FEW SOCKETS TAKE THE BIG BLACK BOX OUT THATS FASTNED TO YOUR EXHAUST MANIFOLD ONE STRAP THAT GOES ACROSS/TWO PIPES BIG FAT ONE ON TOP/JUBILEE CLIP/THINER PIPE GOES ONTO EXHAUST MANIFOLD SAME AGAIN JUBILEE CLIP/PULL BACK TOWARDS BACK OF SKI LIFT OUT...NOW THERES 4 PIPES ON EXHAUST MANIFOLD YOU ONLY NEED TO TAKE TWO OFF. THE TWO NEAREST THE BACK OF THE SKI ....YOU CAN LEAVE THE TWO AT THE FRONT ON BECAUSE THEY WILL PULL BACK WITH MANIFOLD AND ALLOW YOU TO GET AT THE SARTER EASILY..NOW I AM SIX FOOT TALL AND HANDS LIKE SHOVELS AND I COULD GET BEHIND MANIFOLD EASILY SMALL RATCHET 13MM SOCKET SIX BOLTS THREE EITHER SIDE WORK FROM OTHER SIDE OF SKI SO YOUR WORKING ACROSS ENGINE ITS ALOT EASIER BIT FIDGITY BUT LIKE I SAID HANDS LIKE SHOVELS NO PROBS JUST FEEL FOR THE BOLTS AND GUIDE SOCKET ON WITH FINGERS AND YOU WILL FIGURE OUT BEST WAY TO PUT RATCHET ON TO GET BEST LEVERIDGE OUT OF THE SIX BOLTS THERES TWO LONG ONES AT TOP ONE EACH SIDE LEAVE THEM IN BECAUSE THEY WONT COME OUT FULLY BUT ONCE YOU HAVE FULLY UNSCREWED THEM JUST PULL THEM BACK THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO PULL EXHAUST MANIFOLD BACK TO GET AT STARTER BUT NOT YET BECAUSE THERES TWO BOLTS FASTNED AT THE BASE OF MANIFOLD THESE ARE JUST SUPPORT BOLTS WHICH YOU CAN SEE AND GET AT EASILY TAKE THEM OUT NOW THERES ONE BIG BOLT WHICH IS JUST A STRENGTHENER BOLT YOU CAN SEE IT TO YOUR RIGHT LEVEL WITH ENGINE TAKE THAT OUT BECAUSE THE HEAD OF THE BOLT IS QUITE THICK AND WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS WHEN YOUR TRYING TO PULL MANIFOLD BACK. WITH IT OUT IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. UNDO THE 4 BOLTS OF SEAT BRACKET TWO EITHER SIDE JUST POP THE BLACK CIRCULAR CAPS OUT WITH YOUR NAILS IF YOU HAVE ANY..LOL"TAKE ALL 4 BOLTS OUT 10 MM.NOW YOU CAN PULL MANIFOLD BACK AND UP OUT OF WAY YOU WONT BE ABLE TO GET OUT ALL TOGETHER BUT YOU DONT NEED TWO LIKE I SAY JUST PULL MANIFOLD BACK AND UP IT WILL JAM AND GIVE YO PLENTY OF ROOM TO GET AT STARTER AS NOW YOU CAN SEE IT CLEAR TAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS OFF IF YOU CAN AND PUT TO ONE SIDE AS YOU DONT WANT TO DAMAGE THEM WHEN PULLING THE MANIFOLD BACK..JUST TWO 10MM BOLTS AT END OF STARTER FASTNED TO ENGINE BLOCK/TAKE POSITIVE LEAD OF STARTER FIRST NOW YOU HAVE POWER LEAD OF STARTER AND THE TWO 10MM BOLTS OUT PUT A SMALL BLOCK OF WOOD IN FRONT OF STARTER AND KNOCK BACK TOWARDS BACK OF SKI BECAUSE THERES TWO RUBBER SEALS ON NECK OF STARTER YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PULL STARTER OUT WITH YOUR HANDS..IF YOU CAN THEN YOUR STRONGER THAN ME" HEY PRESTO STARTERS OUT PIECE OF CAKE..ITS MUCH EASIER PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER BELIEVE ME....NOW TWO 8MM LONG SKINNY BOLTS RUN FROM BACK STRAIGHT THROGH TO FRONT OF STARTER UNSCREW TAKE OUT NOW STARTER WILL JUST TWIST AND SPLIT APART TAKE CARE WITH THE TWO LARGE RUBBER CIRCULAR SEALS TWIST JUST THE BOTTOM PART OFF IF YOU WANT YOUR BUSHES ARE THERE 4 OF THEM CHECK THEY ARE OK NOT WORN DOWN IF THERES PLENTY LEFT ON THEM THEN THEY ARE OK JUST MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT SIEZED AND ARE MOVING IN AND OUT FREELY IF THEY ARE SEIZED THEN JUST FREE THEM YOURSELF PRIZE EACH ONE OUT AND USING A BIT OF SAND PAPER SAND THEM SLIGHTLY AND GREASE THEM TILL THE 4 ARE MOVING IN AND OUT EASILY..MARK
