Greetings!

I recently purchased a 96 Monte Carlo and a 93 Tigershark. The 93 has a small filter housing with a SS screen inside. This is on the hose from the jet-drive in back to the engine for cooling. The 96 has no such filter that I can see. Does anyone know if the filter would be original? I have a feeling it was added by a previous owner. I would like to remove it but don't want to cause damage. Thanks for any reply!

So I talked to the excellent guys at Alpha Sports out in Maine. Great website and with their help I could not find any reference to that kind of filter or screen on the cooling hose. I am going with a previous owner did it for some reason.
