hey everyone I have a 1999 Kawasaki stx 1100 and I just rebuilt the engine and put it back in the hull. I did 1 session of a break in. Went out Sunday and was doing the second session and about 20 mins in there was a sound of something spinning out.I shut it down and took it home. It would not turn over and I realized there was a gap of about 1-2 inches in the coupler. I tapped it back together and it fired right up so thank god the motor is ok. Why is there play in the coupler and shaft? What do I need to do to fix it? Any help is appreciated

Check your engine mounts. They are rubber mounts that over time sheer. Had the same thing happen on my Yamaha FX cruiser. The engine mounts are a paiin to replace. Good luck.
