I have a 2001 Yamaha GP1200R that has been sitting up for about 3 to 4 months. It won't start. Pretty positive that fuel is not reaching the carbs. However, it is getting good fire. It has fuel in the tank. Any ideas on what to look for would be greatly appreciated!
WEll befor you jump straight to rebuilding the carbs you can do some simple diag.yourself pull the fuel lines at the intake, turn the engine over see if your are getting any fuel at all, make sure your seperator is clear check all lines starting at the fuel tank. is there any fuel on the spark plugs? you know some simple stuff!!
Thanks for the help! The problem was very simple. The 1200R has an accelerator pump. I just had to pump the accelerator 15-20 times while cranking and it fired right up. It starts everytime now. I purchased this ski last year and it never had the chance to sit up so I hadn't encountered this before. Thanks again for replying.
