I recently reinforced the pump tunnel on my 2000 GP1200R. After reinstalling the rear exhaust system, I took the ski out.

My display had had a crack in it and I put nail polish of the crack in an attempt to seal it. When I went riding, the display would beep twice and everything on the screen would shut off. I took the display off and put it in a bag of rice for 4 days. I can still see water inside the LCD screen.

I unplugged the beeper, but I'm kind of worried. Does it sound like just water damage, or could I have done something while reinforcing the tunnel?

No, just the guage. Once they get water in them theres not much you can do.

Thanks a lot for responding. I just wasn't sure, because it seemed to happen more frequent when I hit the throttle.
