Yea the new hull material "Nanocel" is supposed to be 25% lighter, but even stronger that the old hull. Both new and old hulls are SMC (sheet molded compound), but the Nanocel hull uses a different type of filler particle. Yours is not the first complaint that I have heard of the new hull material cracking. I don't know what to tell you, except to follow Outlaws suggestion and take it a Yamaha rep. I would think it would still be covered under warranty.

I've got the same hull on my ski, and I hold my breath every time it gets bumped.
