I have a 94 Monte Carlo Tigershark with a blown rear cylinder. There was a hole in the piston. I replaced the piston and rings and all gaskets, within 3 hours I had burnt a hole in the new piston. Front cylinder is fine. After close inspection the only thing I could find was that the reed valve for that cylinder wasn't fully seated. Could this be my problem or is there something else that is causing the holes in the piston. Any ideas?
