going to be rebuilding the engine in my polaris genesis 1200 soon, and i was wondering how to seperate the crankshaft from the drive shaft that goes to the jet? any special tools or tricks or do i just pick the engine up and slide it out?
I took my engine outlast year to clean everything out, so i used a pully attatched to the ceiling of my garage. as i pulled on the rope providing upward tension on the engine, the engine slid right appart from the drive shaft. be advise getting back together is not fun. trying to align the engine mounts wile aligning the shaft. May have to keep mounts loose from hull. Good luck!
