And I will Fish!
I finally bit the bullet and made an investment in a good drysuit. It is a Kokatat Super Nova Angler Dry Suit. I have been looking at a lot of ones online and today I saw this one at Appomattox Rver Company in Yorktown Va.
Canoe and Kayak Superstore, The Appomattox River Company The most important thing about this model is the relief zipper in the front for those long days on the water. I am going to fish the Mid Atlantic Rockfish Shootout from my Yamaha Ski with my brother on thursday. The forcast is calling for air temps in the thirties and water temp only about 40, so figure a little added insurance and comfort never hurts (Just The Wallet).
I addition to the dry suit I also wear a survival suit and couple of other layers underneath. I wear heavily insulated headgear, handwear and footwear as well. I will not be cold.
For those that are not aware, here is a list of some of the safety gear I carry with or on me.
Hard wired VHF.
Hand held VHF.
Hard wired GPS Sounder.
Hand Held GPS
Spot GPS Tracker.
EPIRB
Cell phone.
Flares.
Signal Mirror.
Dye Pack.
Whistle.
Compass.
First Aid Kit.
Small Tool Kit.
Plus a lot of other stuff.

It is a good thing My Yamaha SUV has over 115 gals of storage!
So heres hoping my brother and I catch some nice Striped Bass and if we dont win the tournament at least catch enough for dinner. Ha!
Here are some pictures of my new drysuit and some of the other cold weather gear.
