Hey all,

My wife and I are leaving today to take our youngest son to Children's hospital. We found out about a little over a month ago that he needs to have open heart surgery to have his aortic valve in his heart replaced. He is 6 years old so if you all could be praying for him, it would be appreciated! When he was 2 days old we found out about his heart condition and he had surgery on his heart then to temporarily fix the valve but were told that eventually it would need to be replaced. That time has now come. I am also a Christian pastor so I have a bunch of people praying for him but I wanted to let everyone on here know as well and let you all know why I will be gone until probably the end of the month. I have an area set up on my web site that you all can follow along with Zach's progression if you like, while we are at Children's hospital. Thank you all for your prayers! We got home yesterday from the hospital much sooner than was expected. Everything went great and it was definitely due to everyone praying for Zach so for all who did that, thank you all very much! The surgeon did what is called "The Ross Procedure" on Zach instead of just replacing his aortic valve. It was very interesting to say the least but apparently offers the best results. Here is a link to it as well for those of you interested.

Last, I would like to thank God for all that He did in taking care of Zach while he had his surgery and was in the hospital. We saw miracles happen and are so grateful for God blessing us and Zach in the many ways that He did this past week!

I found out about my daughters heart condition when she was 3 days old, so I know what you went through.

Her condition was tetralogy of fallot. First surgery at 4 months and the latest one was 3 years ago at 8 years old.

I held onto James 5: 14-16

Thank you for those kind words! I will also keep your daughter help up in prayer! We had Zach's first check up yesterday at Children's hospital and everything went fantastic. They said everything looked good so his next check up will be on the 3rd at his cardiologists.
