Hello, my name is Mannie. Got a 1999 tigershark 640 ts. It had blown pistons so I did a top end rebuild with new rings, pistons and gaskets, etc.. Put everything back together to spec. Took it to the launch to start her up. Starts right up and isles but dies when throttled. Did a compression test. The non mag side has 120psi compression and mag side only 60psi. It also is getting water getting into motor somehow.. Figured I get some idea here. Thoughts??

If your pto cylinder only has 120psi then are the cylinders true( 6 areas per cyl. to spec)I usually get 150psi on topend rebuild. They fail at 80-60psi, sounds like your mag cylinder dropped. Did you open head to see if the top ring caught on exhaust port? Very common when jugs aren’t prepped. Unless your a machinist or learned from an oldschooler in the trade it’s a gamble. Sometimes i still have others recheck my work even after doing it for 30yrs. Not trying to be insulting in anyway. It is a timeconsuming job.
