I bought a 1988 Jet ski 550 and the carb is not getting fuel. I cleaned out the carb but noticed there is a valve attached to the hull with two wires going to it and three fuel lines linking through this valve. I think this valve is the "ON" and "RES" fuel switch. How can I test if it is working properly? This valve has three hoses going to it but not sure if I can bypass the valve so I can test to get the engine running. Note the jet ski has been stored for about 8 years and it turns over and has spark and compression but it's not getting any fuel at all. Thanks for your help.:)

you ought to be able to bypass the fuel switch.

there should be 2 fuel lines from the tank that go into the switch and one line the goes to the carb.

just take a one of those lines and go directly to the carb or take the line on the carb end off at the carb and suck on it and see if you can get gas to come out. just dont get a mouthful of it.
