Hello all,

new to the forum and new to Jetski's in general. Always wanted a stand-up jetski and recently found a Kawi JS440 (85) and JS550 (86). Both were completely torn apart so it was fun rebuilding them and learning about what makes them tick. The 440 was complete parts-wise and I've managed to get that running, the 550 however has me asking some questions.

1.) The in-line fuel/water separator is missing, is this essential? is there any alternatives? I'm having a tough time tracking one down that isn't insanely expensive.

2.) I have a whole on the left side of my hull, searching has led me to believe this is a "pisser"?? Is that from factory like that? and what is its purpose? I will be running all new hoses but i dont see and bilge fittings that would seal off the hole in the hull, just a 1" hole in the fiberglass.

thanks for your time, I appreciate it!

Plenty on ebay. I would get a new sediment bowl though. Plenty of those there also.

Yes that's for the pisser. You can just get a billet one or scour ebay for a oem. It is there to let you know the cooling system is functioning. I believe on yours it will come off the side of the exhaust manifold, but you might want to find a more reliable source to double check.
