I am semi-familiar with what cavitation is and the damage it may cause. My question is when jumping a wake or wave if in the ocean and the ski comes out of the water or at least rises up some, would this allow more air to be sucked in and increase the possibility of cavitation damage? If I am way off base please feel free to educate me. Although I am not getting real air on my 07-FX HO, yesterday at Lake Wiley here in NC when I would hit a wake perpendicular and the ski would lift slightly up I could hear the engine pitch get higher, obviously due to coming out of the water. Just wondering if this is cool or may damage it. Thanks for any info.
