Lcd Maint ???

New to the forum, on my 99 GTX RFI..the MAINT light came on...I just did major maint. lubed everything, new plugs, oil drain, filters etc...is this a time thing that just comes on periodically like the BMW main light or is it an indication that something needs to be done? Thanks-Phil
