Hi everyone,

I just bought a Tiger Shark 770 and it need some work but all seems fine now except that the exhaust noise when running is so loud it gives me a headache and I can hardly stand it.

The muffler looks ok but there is no way that I know of to check it.

Any suggestions?

Loud exhaust

Thanks 500 Ocian Pro Slut for your response.

Where exactly are you suggesting I put my hand? I suspect you are suggesting I do this at the discharge port of the muffer right?

Is there a difference between a water box and a muffer?

Is the muffler/water box suppose to be filled with water? If so, is this the same water that discharges out the manifold? My muffler had no water in it when I removed it. Does that indicate anything?

Thanks again,

Hi 550 Ocean Pro Slut,

Thanks for your response.

I am concerned about the water system. the intake line looks good but where it goes is questionable in my mind. I do not know if it has been altered.

It comes from the outdrive, throught a filter then goes to two inlets at the bottom of the exhaust manifold and to another port on the exhaust manifold (at the rear). Then another hose comes from the inlet AND outlet ports on the head of the engine which go to the outlet hole on the side of the hull.

It appears to me that the inlet hose should go one port on the head and the other port of the head should go directly to the hull outlet hole. Should there be 3 inlets on the exhaust manifold? Should the inlets be the two at the bottom and the one at the rear, should that one go to the hole in the hull?

Thanks,

Bert
