I just purchased a 96' Polaris sl 700 and the front cylinder was rebuilt but the rear was not. I did a check on the compression of the two and the rear is lagging a little. Should I rebuild both or try to get it started and leave it for now? I'm rebuilding the carb now.Any advice on the low compression? I s it a major problem? Thanks.

I have the same ski and the same problem, low compression on the rear cylinder. I haven't checked out my engine yet, but I was wondering if you had diagnosed yours yet? It could be a head gasket, which means you'll need to shave the head and get a new gasket. Is there any evidence of an oil leak on the block?
