Anyone have any ideas how I can repair this lift? The piece that slides up and down inside the rail is bent, making the lift unusable. Evidently the manufacturer went out of business so that is of no help!
Thats a pretty easy fix from what I can see. If you remove the winch and mount from the top. It looks like the lift frame will come out the top. Then get a piece of stainless shaft of the same diameter as the bent aluminum one. Then fabricate a set of gliders or use a set of brgs for the ends. Shaft diameter is not critical so long as it fits tight and is a size you can easily drill to fit.
Making a few assumptions here, such as 5/16 shaft and 1 inch track for glider area. Get a piece of 5/16 shaft. The 1 inch uhmw cut a couple disks from it drill a 5/16 hole in center to make a wheel for the ends and you should be good to go.
McMaster Carr has everything you need and they ship right away.
Do you see where I'm going with my explanation?
You will have to find correct size for outter wheel diameter you'll want it at least 1/16" smaller than the track width.
