I hate that I'm asking this question but I have to accept we live in a $4 a gallon gas world. So I looked on the yamaha website and it looks like they have some unique fuel saving feature which I like. You can put it in some kind of fuel saving mode apparently. It says it consumes 4.9 gallons of gas per hour. My question is what does it take to rack up an hour on a PWC? Is that based on full throttle for one hour? I know so much depends on the situation, current, riding style, ect but I'm trying to get a ballpark figure.

Fuel use depends on how you run it.

Just cruising around, with a couple WOT fun-runs, (and one fast run back home away from a storm), I racked up about 7 hours on my FX-Cruiser (base model, plain 140 engine), and used 15 gallons of fuel last weekend. I did have some friends using it as well, and they were, pretty much WOT when they were playing, but were included in the 7 hours.
