Hey,

I am looking at the VX Deluxe, new. It is Feb and I am in the Northeast - off season. Any idea on what a good price is off of MSRP? I understand that since it is their entry level ski there may not be to much wiggle room.

Search

The Search feature seemed to answer my question. This is what I found:
  • Expect finance deals and credit towards accessories.
  • Not much budging on MSRP for 2011's
  • Expect decent savings on 2010's or 2009's
  • Different dealers have different delivery charges - shop around.
  • Shows "may" offer some discounts.

A note on the Yamaha finance deal. Sounds sweet but penalties are steep. A longer loan with lower payments might be safer than the 28% penalty interest they list in the small print.

The VX is a popular ski. I'd recommend looking for a used one in the spring. They are pretty much bullet proof as long as you avoid the high hour prior rental skis. You can find a nice used one for $5000 or less including a trailer.

If you really want a new one, shop the boat shows for 2009 and 2010 left over models for the best deal. Avoid Yamaha financing. The last couple of years they used GE Money, and I've heard of nothing but headaches from people that used them.

Yea, you are not going to get any dealers to cut you any real deals on the 2011 models. The VX is just too popular.
