i have a 89 js 440 which used to start instantly but now its nearly impossible to get it started. last weekend i could get it to start after a whole lot of cranking, then it would run fine for a long time but if i killed it the longer i waited to fire it back up the arder it was to start. it also seemed like when i could get it started after it had been runing for a while that it was extremely rich. i have recently rebuilt the carb. I can blow into the tank but not suck out. my tank will hold pressure for over a day, fuel will drip into the carb after i run it even when im not trying to start it, what do i need to do to get that instant start back?
