Need Help with a 98 Doo GS

Hello and thank you for letting me join your forum.

I am replacing the lower storage cover on a 1998 Sea Doo GS. The original one broke at the hinge. It looks like the wire for the gas gauge goes through one of the holes on the lower storage cover. If this is so how do i separate the wire harness (from either the gauge or the hook up in the hull) to run the wire through the lower storage cover.
