I have a 750sx 1992 that is getting a to end rebuild. However, i don't know how to go about compressing the piston rings so that i can slide the cyliner over them. There is a special tool that kawaswaki uses, but im trying to do this on my own. Any ideas or tricks you guys might have?

Hey, Make sure you use lots of two stroke oil. Line the ring ends up on the locator pins. Then compress the rings with your fingers. The bottom of the cylinder sleeves are tapered and the sides of the piston will be exposed as the piston goes into the barrel. Just go slowly so the rings remain compressed onto the piston.

Its really better to have someone help you for this part. One holding the piston, the other lowering the cylinder.

I've done it too many times, it's easy.

Try it once without the piston on the connecting rod, you'll see what I mean.
