I just got my first jet ski today. Free bee of course, they told me it ran two years ago looks clean. I need to know a few basic things.

  • fuel mix I read that with older units you should just run mixed gas and not relie on the injection system
  • how do I drain the fuel tank is there a drain or do i have to remove the tank and drain it
  • same with oil tank
    • how are the motors cooled
    • whats with no actual ignition I just got a piece of plastic on a little rip cord that looks like it goes over the stop switch
I think that is it for now I am sure I will have more when I get the battery charged.

      Thanks for your help

I run premix but it is up to you. Haven't seen oil pumps go bad yet, only on outboards. You'd have to remove the oil system first. These are cooled by the jet pump forcing water into the exhaust and cylinders. I drain a fuel tank by disconnecting the reserve hose and sucking out the fuel. The lanyard, little plastic clip, goes behind the stop button. No key or anything.
