Hi Guys,
I've been looking for a used older PWC project and I'm retired so not much money to spend hence the Project designation.
In my neighborhood I saw 1999 Yamaha Waverunner GP800x for sale. It has the usual ripped seats and faded decals.
I stopped and talked to the owner(older gentlemen) and he said he used it in several years.
His asking price was very reasonable, the galvanized Magic Tilt Trailer appears hardly used and tires look new.
He purchased a new battery for it but hasn't had time to install it.
The engine and engine area look surprisingly clean.

Questions: (these are off the top of my head so feel free to add your own suggestions and cautions)
Maintenance items before trying to start it
  • Drain the gas from the fuel tank and refill
  • Drain the oil reservoir and fill it with fresh oil
  • Inspect fuel lines and replace if necessary
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Replace oil filter
  • Clean water separator (or replace?)
  • Replace spark plugs
  • Inspect Ignition wires
  • Should I connect the flush hose and run water while trying to start?
What am I missing?
