Im looking to buy a PWC and have the choice between these two.

2003 Yamaha FX140 100 hrs. perfect condition. Includes single trailer, vests. $4100

2003 Sea Doo GTX 4 tec. Non supercharged. 50 hours perfect condition, with trailer and vests. $ 4400.

Im looking to pull a tube, with kids. I am new to this sport, and only have driven once, and it was a late 90s gti. I believe it was. I guess I want your expert opinions. Thanks much!

I have a sea doo and a yamaha both are 2 strokes though. I'm not sure about the newer ones, but the sea doo 2001 has features I prefer over the yamaha 1998. The sea doo has: Left hand reverse lever, better tow hook, thumb lever for throttle, instead of foward facing (finger) throttle lever, better mooring points, runs smoother. Both have there own set of problems. I would research both and test drive them. Keep in mind the areas I listed.

The problem with the Sea Doo's is they have the worst reliability and their customer service flat out sucks! I have heard so many horror stories from them, even when it was clearly something that broke and should have been covered under warranty, that I now always caution everyone about Sea Doo.

Hey, i have a 2000 seadoo gtirfi, 110hp, it is a good ski for the family with small kids but as the kids get older it seems to strugle pulling me (90kg) out on mono with wife and 11yr old son spotting, my advice is to go for the one with more grunt (hp). im looking to up grade now to min 165hp kids are 16 and 12 and skinny.
hope this helps
