I have a newly purchased '97 Yamaha WaveRunner GP1200.

Our first test run was last night, and that was also the first time I've driven a PWC so I'm a complete newbie.

Our machine was well maintained and runs great, but I have two questions regarding steering & handling.

First off the machine feels as if it wants to turn left all of the time. I had to ride with a slight lean to the right & with the bars turned slightly right to go straight. Is this normal, or do I need to adjust the steering trim?

I don't have a manual, but I assume the steering is trimmed by changing the length of the rod at the nozzle?

My other question is in regards to the adjustable sponsons. I live on a lake with a 35mph speed limit, so handling is more important to me than top speed. Is the all the way down position the best for handling?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide!
