I am new to the stand-up world. I aquired an 89 650SX and am doing a rebuild b/c it needed a little work. I am considering the block off kit but have a couple questions. If I use the block off kit is the oil mix 40:1? What type of oil do I use in the crank case 10/30w? Where can I get my hands on an inexpensive block off kit? Thanks for any help.

i've never dabbled with a block off kit but you don't want to put oil in your crankcase. that's the point of mixing it with the gas.

40:1 or 50:1 would be a good guess for the mix. its 40:1 on 550's but 50:1 on the 550SX's with the reed valves. might have to ask someone smarter than me to get a solid answer.
Hey I just wanted to say thanks. You basically answered my questions. I have the engine broke down and need to put it back together should I grease the connecting rods and bearings before firing so that there is some lubrication throughout the engine while the premix is circulating and lubing the joints?
