Just bought a 2000 gp 1200r with a d-plate already in it. Besides yamalube-2W what type of oil can i use?

What i am getting at is in prior years you could run tc-w3 oil in a 1200 engine. With a d=plate is it ok to go back to that?

I have heard good things about amsoil.
