So I bought this thing a few weeks ago with the engine out of it, half way apart and rusty. I tore it all apart, cleaned it out, put it back together and re-installed it. She'll fire right up and run for a few seconds on starter fluid, but for the life of me I can't get fuel to flow out of the carbs. I'm getting 1.5 to 2 lbs fuel pressure while it cranks over, I've had the carbs apart and they weren't dirty or clogged up. The float bowls are filling up with fuel but no fuel is drawn out of the secondary venturi when it cranks over. I've got 100 psi compression out of all three cylinders. I'm an auto mechanic and this is my first time messing with water craft stuff but I believe I got everything back together and hooked up correctly. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, I did eventually get it running just by temporarily plugging the return line and pumping the crap out of the primer mechanism. I took it out 3 times and on the third trip it had the same problem once again so I took the regulator out of the loop and that made it run for a while but then it started cutting out and dying, I'm pretty sure its the fuel pump so I ordered a rebuild kit and I haven't had a chance to install it yet. Thanks for your interest.

I know that it is discouraging to post a problem and get little help but it it really helpful when the posts are resolved. Glad you figured it out and thanks for taking time to post it.

Problem resolved

So yesterday I installed the fuel pump rebuild kit, took it out for like 6 hours on the water, rode it pretty hard the entire time and didn't have any problems at all. So it was the fuel pump that just needed rebuilt.
