I'm getting ready to do some work on a 2001 GP800R, and plan to install a fuel primer at the same time. Any suggestions/recomendation on installation? Such as where to put the primer button? hate to drill a hole in the body and have it sticking out, thinking about putting it in the glove box. or maybe installing a small flange on the inside, under the seat.

thanks,

You can do either. Probably the glove box is the go. You will have to take the side covers off to install in the glove box or you can die grind a hole in the back of the glove box and install it there. Also, are you going to remove the choke or install brass fitting further in the carb body so you can leave the choke attached. I always think it is good to leave the choke on when installing a primer to help build fuel pressure when cold.

GC - thanks for the reply. I bought a kit, and it's based on removing the choke and installing into the choke shaft holes. I see your point, however I'm not sure about drilling into the carb bodies.
