Actually most SeaDoo's from 1994 to 1996 have been recalled for the fuel tank issue. When it first came out it was only an inspection and tanks that failed were replaced. I think it was 2001 when they finally said all tanks would have to be changed. If your not sure if your SeaDoo has been done or needs it take the VIN to your dealer so they can check it against Bombardiers computer data. The problem is the plastic neck that the fuel baffle sets in. It cracks and allows fuel and fuel vapors to leak into the hull.
This recall appears to be a problem at this time. My 96 GTI has been in the shop for over two months waiting on a new tank. The dealer says these have been out of stock all summer. If this is true, tot a very good testament to SeaDoo for their customers.
