Bought a used 2000 XL1200 limited. Reverse cable sheath in the back well is shreaded and same cable in the front near the handle is bent 90 degrees. New cable on order, hope to duct tape the new to the old and pull it thru. Should I pull from the front or the rear?

Reverse Cable Installation

I just replaced mine (2002 1200XLT). Remove the front bucket. disconnect the cable from the lever. Attach a wire or something to it and pull everything through the rear (after disconnecting at rear) like an electrician "fishes" a tape. Once wire is pulled through the rear, connect new cable then go back to front and pull new cable through. Connect new cable to lever. connect cable at rear. DONE. No secret... and it IS that simple. If you need more detail let me know (these aren't bolt-by-bolt instructions because it's very intuitive).
